Old Testament

Numbers 2

2:1Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 2:2"The children of Israel shall encamp every man by his own standard, with the ensigns of their fathers' houses: at a distance from the tent of meeting shall they encamp around it."

2:3Those who encamp on the east side toward the sunrise shall be of the standard of the camp of Judah, according to their divisions: and the prince of the children of Judah shall be Nahshon the son of Amminadab. 2:4His division, and those who were numbered of them, were seventy-four thousand six hundred.

2:5Those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Issachar: and the prince of the children of Issachar shall be Nethanel the son of Zuar. 2:6His division, and those who were numbered of it, were fifty-four thousand four hundred.

2:7The tribe of Zebulun: and the prince of the children of Zebulun shall be Eliab the son of Helon. 2:8His division, and those who were numbered of it, were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.

2:9All who were numbered of the camp of Judah were one hundred eighty-six thousand four hundred, according to their divisions. They shall set out first.

2:10"On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben according to their divisions. The prince of the children of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur. 2:11His division, and those who were numbered of it, were forty-six thousand five hundred.

2:12"Those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Simeon. The prince of the children of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai. 2:13His division, and those who were numbered of them, were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

2:14"The tribe of Gad: and the prince of the children of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of Reuel. 2:15His division, and those who were numbered of them, were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.

2:16"All who were numbered of the camp of Reuben were one hundred fifty-one thousand four hundred fifty, according to their hosts. They shall set out second.

2:17"Then the tent of meeting shall set out, with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camps. As they encamp, so shall they set out, every man in his place, by their standards.

2:18"On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their divisions: and the prince of the children of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud. 2:19His division, and those who were numbered of them, were forty thousand five hundred.

2:20"Next to him shall be the tribe of Manasseh: and the prince of the children of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur. 2:21His division, and those who were numbered of them, were thirty-two thousand two hundred.

2:22"The tribe of Benjamin: and the prince of the children of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni. 2:23His host, and those who were numbered of them, were thirty-five thousand four hundred.

2:24"All who were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were one hundred eight thousand one hundred, according to their divisions. They shall set out third.

2:25"On the north side shall be the standard of the camp of Dan according to their divisions: and the prince of the children of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai. 2:26His division, and those who were numbered of them, were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.

2:27"Those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Asher: and the prince of the children of Asher shall be Pagiel the son of Ochran. 2:28His division, and those who were numbered of them, were forty-one thousand and five hundred.

2:29"The tribe of Naphtali: and the prince of the children of Naphtali shall be Ahira the son of Enan. 2:30His division, and those who were numbered of them, were fifty-three thousand four hundred.

2:31"All who were numbered of the camp of Dan were one hundred fifty-seven thousand six hundred. They shall set out last by their standards."

2:32These are those who were numbered of the children of Israel by their fathers' houses. All who were numbered of the camps according to their hosts were six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty. 2:33But the Levites were not numbered among the children of Israel; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

2:34Thus the children of Israel did. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so they encamped by their standards, and so they set out, everyone by their families, according to their fathers' houses.

New Testament

John 2

2:1The third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. Jesus' mother was there. 2:2Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the marriage. 2:3When the wine ran out, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no wine."

2:4Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come."

2:5His mother said to the servants, "Whatever he says to you, do it." 2:6Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews' manner of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece. 2:7Jesus said to them, "Fill the water pots with water." They filled them up to the brim. 2:8He said to them, "Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast." So they took it. 2:9When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn't know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom, 2:10and said to him, "Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!" 2:11This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

2:12After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and they stayed there a few days. 2:13The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2:14He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting. 2:15He made a whip of cords, and threw all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers' money, and overthrew their tables. 2:16To those who sold the doves, he said, "Take these things out of here! Don't make my Father's house a marketplace!" 2:17His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will eat me up."

2:18The Jews therefore answered him, "What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?"

2:19Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."

2:20The Jews therefore said, "Forty-six years was this temple in building, and will you raise it up in three days?" 2:21But he spoke of the temple of his body. 2:22When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

2:23Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, observing his signs which he did. 2:24But Jesus didn't trust himself to them, because he knew everyone, 2:25and because he didn't need for anyone to testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
