| March 5 Old Testament Leviticus 27 27:1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 27:2Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, When a man shall accomplish a vow, the persons shall be for Yahweh by your estimation. 27:3Your estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even to sixty years old, even your estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. 27:4If it be a female, then your estimation shall be thirty shekels. 27:5If it be from five years old even to twenty years old, then your estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 27:6If it be from a month old even to five years old, then your estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female your estimation shall be three shekels of silver. 27:7If it be from sixty years old and upward; if it be a male, then your estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 27:8But if he be poorer than your estimation, then he shall be set before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to the ability of him who vowed shall the priest value him. 27:9If it be a animal, whereof men offer an offering to Yahweh, all that any man gives of such to Yahweh shall be holy. 27:10He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change animal for animal, then both it and that for which it is changed shall be holy. 27:11If it be any unclean animal, of which they do not offer an offering to Yahweh, then he shall set the animal before the priest; 27:12and the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as you the priest value it, so shall it be. 27:13But if he will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of it to your estimation. 27:14When a man shall sanctify his house to be holy to Yahweh, then the priest shall estimate it, whether it be good or bad: as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand. 27:15If he who sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it, and it shall be his. 27:16If a man shall sanctify to Yahweh part of the field of his possession, then your estimation shall be according to the sowing of it: the sowing of a homer of barley shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver. 27:17If he sanctify his field from the year of jubilee, according to your estimation it shall stand. 27:18But if he sanctify his field after the jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the money according to the years that remain to the year of jubilee; and an abatement shall be made from your estimation. 27:19If he who sanctified the field will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it, and it shall be assured to him. 27:20If he will not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more: 27:21but the field, when it goes out in the jubilee, shall be holy to Yahweh, as a field devoted; the possession of it shall be the priest's. 27:22If he sanctify to Yahweh a field which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession; 27:23then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your estimation to the year of jubilee: and he shall give your estimation in that day, as a holy thing to Yahweh. 27:24In the year of jubilee the field shall return to him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belongs. 27:25All your estimations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel. 27:26Only the firstborn among animals, which is made a firstborn to Yahweh, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox or sheep, it is Yahweh's. 27:27If it be of an unclean animal, then he shall ransom it according to your estimation, and shall add to it the fifth part of it: or if it isn't redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your estimation. 27:28Notwithstanding, no devoted thing, that a man shall devote to Yahweh of all that he has, whether of man or animal, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy to Yahweh. 27:29No one devoted, who shall be devoted from among men, shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death. 27:30All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is Yahweh's: it is holy to Yahweh. 27:31If a man will redeem anything of his tithe, he shall add to it the fifth part of it. 27:32All the tithe of the herd or the flock, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to Yahweh. 27:33He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and that for which it is changed shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed. 27:34These are the commandments, which Yahweh commanded Moses for the children of Israel in Mount Sinai.New Testament Luke 24 24:1But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared. 24:2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 24:3They entered in, and didn't find the Lord Jesus' body. 24:4It happened, while they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing. 24:5Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? 24:6He isn't here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee, 24:7saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again?" 24:8They remembered his words, 24:9returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest. 24:10Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles. 24:11These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn't believe them. 24:12But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened. 24:13Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia from Jerusalem. 24:14They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened. 24:15It happened, while they talked and questioned together, that Jesus himself came near, and went with them. 24:16But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. 24:17He said to them, "What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?" 24:18One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, "Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn't know the things which have happened there in these days?" 24:19He said to them, "What things?" They said to him, "The things concerning Jesus, the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people; 24:20and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him. 24:21But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened. 24:22Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb; 24:23and when they didn't find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. 24:24Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they didn't see him." 24:25He said to them, "Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 24:26Didn't the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?" 24:27Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. 24:28They drew near to the village, where they were going, and he acted like he would go further. 24:29They urged him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over." He went in to stay with them. 24:30It happened, that when he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them. 24:31Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished out of their sight. 24:32They said one to another, "Weren't our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?" 24:33They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them, 24:34saying, "The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!" 24:35They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread. 24:36As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, "Peace be to you." 24:37But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. 24:38He said to them, "Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts? 24:39See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn't have flesh and bones, as you see that I have." 24:40When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. 24:41While they still didn't believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" 24:42They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb. 24:43He took it, and ate in front of them. 24:44He said to them, "This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled." 24:45Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures. 24:46He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 24:47and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 24:48You are witnesses of these things. 24:49Behold, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high." 24:50He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. 24:51It happened, while he blessed them, that he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven. 24:52They worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 24:53and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen. |
