| March 2 Old Testament Leviticus 23-24 23:1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 23:2Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, The set feasts of Yahweh, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my set feasts. 23:3Six days shall work be done: but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation; you shall do no manner of work: it is a Sabbath to Yahweh in all your dwellings. 23:4These are the set feasts of Yahweh, even holy convocations, which you shall proclaim in their appointed season. 23:5In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, is Yahweh's Passover. 23:6On the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread to Yahweh: seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. 23:7In the first day you shall have a holy convocation: you shall do no servile work. 23:8But you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh seven days: in the seventh day is a holy convocation; you shall do no servile work. 23:9Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 23:10Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, When you are come into the land which I give to you, and shall reap the harvest of it, then you shall bring the sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest: 23:11and he shall wave the sheaf before Yahweh, to be accepted for you: on the next day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. 23:12In the day when you wave the sheaf, you shall offer a he-lamb without blemish a year old for a burnt offering to Yahweh. 23:13The meal-offering of it shall be two tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering made by fire to Yahweh for a sweet savor; and the drink-offering of it shall be of wine, the fourth part of a hin. 23:14You shall eat neither bread, nor parched grain, nor fresh ears, until this same day, until you have brought the offering of your God: it is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 23:15You shall count to you from the next day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave-offering; seven Sabbaths shall there be complete: 23:16even to the next day after the seventh Sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meal-offering to Yahweh. 23:17You shall bring out of your habitations two wave-loaves of two tenth parts of an ephah: they shall be of fine flour, they shall be baked with yeast, for first fruits to Yahweh. 23:18You shall present with the bread seven lambs without blemish a year old, and one young bull, and two rams: they shall be a burnt offering to Yahweh, with their meal-offering, and their drink-offerings, even an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahweh. 23:19You shall offer one male goat for a sin-offering, and two he-lambs a year old for a sacrifice of peace-offerings. 23:20The priest shall wave them with the bread of the first fruits for a wave-offering before Yahweh, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to Yahweh for the priest. 23:21You shall make proclamation on the same day; there shall be a holy convocation to you; you shall do no servile work: it is a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations. 23:22When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field, neither shall you gather the gleaning of your harvest: you shall leave them for the poor, and for the sojourner: I am Yahweh your God. 23:23Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 23:24Speak to the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, shall be a solemn rest to you, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. 23:25You shall do no servile work; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh. 23:26Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 23:27However on the tenth day of this seventh month is the day of atonement: it shall be a holy convocation to you, and you shall afflict your souls; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh. 23:28You shall do no manner of work in that same day; for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement for you before Yahweh your God. 23:29For whatever soul it be who shall not be afflicted in that same day; he shall be cut off from his people. 23:30Whatever soul it be who does any manner of work in that same day, that soul will I destroy from among his people. 23:31You shall do no manner of work: it is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 23:32It shall be to you a Sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even to even, shall you keep your Sabbath. 23:33Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 23:34Speak to the children of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of tents for seven days to Yahweh. 23:35On the first day shall be a holy convocation: you shall do no servile work. 23:36Seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh: on the eighth day shall be a holy convocation to you; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh: it is a solemn assembly; you shall do no servile work. 23:37These are the set feasts of Yahweh, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh, a burnt offering, and a meal-offering, a sacrifice, and drink-offerings, each on its own day; 23:38besides the Sabbaths of Yahweh, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill-offerings, which you give to Yahweh. 23:39However on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruits of the land, you shall keep the feast of Yahweh seven days: on the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest. 23:40You shall take on the first day the fruit of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before Yahweh your God seven days. 23:41You shall keep it a feast to Yahweh seven days in the year: it is a statute forever throughout your generations; you shall keep it in the seventh month. 23:42You shall dwell in booths seven days; all who are home-born in Israel shall dwell in booths; 23:43that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Yahweh your God. 23:44Moses declared to the children of Israel the set feasts of Yahweh. 24:1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 24:2Command the children of Israel, that they bring to you pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually. 24:3Outside of the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, shall Aaron keep it in order from evening to morning before Yahweh continually: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations. 24:4He shall keep in order the lamps on the pure lampstand before Yahweh continually. 24:5You shall take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes of it: two tenth parts of an ephah shall be in one cake. 24:6You shall set them in two rows, six on a row, on the pure table before Yahweh. 24:7You shall put pure frankincense on each row, that it may be to the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire to Yahweh. 24:8Every Sabbath day he shall set it in order before Yahweh continually; it is on the behalf of the children of Israel, an everlasting covenant. 24:9It shall be for Aaron and his sons; and they shall eat it in a holy place: for it is most holy to him of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire by a perpetual statute. 24:10The son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel; and the son of the Israelite woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp: 24:11and the son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name, and cursed; and they brought him to Moses. His mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan. 24:12They put him in custody, that it might be declared to them at the mouth of Yahweh. 24:13Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 24:14Bring forth him who has cursed outside of the camp; and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him. 24:15You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin. 24:16He who blasphemes the name of Yahweh, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the sojourner, as the home-born, when he blasphemes the name of Yahweh, shall be put to death. 24:17He who strikes any man mortally shall surely be put to death. 24:18He who strikes a animal mortally shall make it good, life for life. 24:19If a man cause a blemish in his neighbor; as he has done, so shall it be done to him: 24:20breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he has caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be rendered to him. 24:21He who kills a animal shall make it good: and he who kills a man shall be put to death. 24:22You shall have one kind of law, as well for the sojourner, as for the home-born: for I am Yahweh your God. 24:23Moses spoke to the children of Israel; and they brought forth him who had cursed out of the camp, and stoned him with stones. The children of Israel did as Yahweh commanded Moses. New Testament Luke 21 21:1He looked up, and saw the rich people who were putting their gifts into the treasury. 21:2He saw a certain poor widow casting in two lepta. 21:3He said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow put in more than all of them, 21:4for all these put in gifts for God from their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, put in all that she had to live on." 21:5As some were talking about the temple and how it was decorated with beautiful stones and gifts, he said, 21:6"As for these things which you see, the days will come, in which there will not be left here one stone on another that will not be thrown down." 21:7They asked him, "Teacher, so when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are about to happen?" 21:8He said, "Watch out that you don't get led astray, for many will come in my name, saying, 'I AM,' and, 'The time is at hand.' Therefore don't follow them. 21:9When you hear of wars and disturbances, don't be terrified, for these things must happen first, but the end won't come immediately." 21:10Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 21:11There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven. 21:12But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name's sake. 21:13It will turn out as a testimony for you. 21:14Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer, 21:15for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict. 21:16You will be handed over even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends. Some of you they will cause to be put to death. 21:17You will be hated by all men for my name's sake. 21:18Not a hair of your head will perish. 21:19By your endurance you will win your lives. 21:20"But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is at hand. 21:21Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let those who are in the midst of her depart. Let those who are in the country not enter therein. 21:22For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 21:23Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land, and wrath to this people. 21:24They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. 21:25There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves; 21:26men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 21:27Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 21:28But when these things begin to happen, look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near." 21:29He told them a parable. "See the fig tree, and all the trees. 21:30When they are already budding, you see it and know by your own selves that the summer is already near. 21:31Even so you also, when you see these things happening, know that the Kingdom of God is near. 21:32Most assuredly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all things are accomplished. 21:33Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away. 21:34"So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly. 21:35For it will come like a snare on all those who dwell on the surface of all the earth. 21:36Therefore be watchful all the time, asking that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man." 21:37Every day Jesus was teaching in the temple, and every night he would go out, and spent the night on the mountain that is called Olivet. 21:38All the people came early in the morning to him in the temple to hear him. |
